At night we went to Virginia Beach where we saw some awesome fireworks and sand sculptures. Both were the best we have ever seen. Its amazing what people can do with sand and what they can go with explosives. Exploding sand sculptures would have been cool too. It was also nice having the boardwalk to do our 7 mile run on. We're more than half way to 13.1 miles in November!!

Colonial Williamsburg & Neptune Festival
So this weekend we went to Colonial Williamsburg. Its where they reenact the Colonial times before the start of the Revolutionary War. Its was my idea, not Melanie's, but she was happy to come along (its kind of like if she drags me to an art museum.) They have a lot of shops to go in and places that show trades of 300 years ago like the blacksmith, gunsmith, silversmith, shoe maker, etc.

Virginia Beach 9/18/10
We went to Virginia Beach this weekend and could not have asked for better weather! We wore jackets in the morning, then it was warm enough to get in the water by 11am. Jer-z had a lot of fun chasing the waves. He wasn't much for relaxing on the beach tho. We figured it was good practice for when we have kids, cuz I hear they don't like just laying around enjoying the sun either:) We found the worlds largest blow up slide. It was awesome.
We are training for the Richmond half marathon so we got up and ran 6 miles on the Boardwalk and got to see a B-E-A-Utiful sunrise. Then we had a nice breakfast and went to a timeshare talk. We said no:) and got free tickets to Colonial Williamsburg. So that is our plan for next weekend.
Eric did get a call that his dog growing up "Bear" had to get put to sleep. He was a good dog and lived 15 years. RIP Bear :(

Busch Gardens

We also found a really good church this weekend, so we are excited about that. They are part of the Acts 29 movement. We went to a Bible study Tuesday and met a lot of cool people. We have dinner together and discuss the sermon from Sunday. We are going to learn a lot and be challenged while we hang out with them.

Toth's @ the James River
We decided to hang out in Richmond and explore the James River. We did some hiking on Saturday. The weather was perfect. It was so nice to be outside with the sun shining, wind blowing and not sweat up a storm...

Then we went to a place you can swim. Everyone just picks a rock to hang out on and then
swims in the river. It was really neat.
There was one rock you could jump off of...So we did (Of course)
Then on Sunday we rented tubes and floated the river...and by "floated" i mean swam. It was very low so we got a good workout in too. There were like Christmas trees all underneath us. Sometimes it felt like you were getting sucked in. Weird. (Texas floating is better:) but it was a nice and relaxing way to spend our Sabbath.

Life in Richmond
Life is good here in Richmond. We both started working on Monday. It is interesting were God has place both of us:) Melanie's place is super nice with a HUGE gym and a large staff and VERY busy. Eric's place is smaller with only 4 therapy staff and slower pace. It's funny because I would love to be at Eric's place and i sure he would fit in great at mine. But we both know God placed us where He wants us, and has good reason for doing so....So we are happy. It is hard to get back in the "work mode" after being off for so long! We are staying in an extended stay hotel until our company signs us for an apartment, hopefully next week. We don't know what to do this weekend since Earl might be coming our way...We were wanting to go to Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. We will see...
